Our Tigers

Our South Chinese tigers come from a critically endangered group with only a few individuals left in the wild, and about 100 in captivity. The preservation of this species is one of the highest priorities of the Sanctuary. We are very lucky to have the opportunity to provide our tigers with a comfortable, quiet environment with plenty of enrichment and experienced, attentive zookeepers keeping eyes on this family at all times. Mother tiger Betty was brought to the Day Lily Sanctuary after successfully repopulating the species on June 17, 2024 with her two healthy, happy, and active kittens; Archie and Jug.
